MAKE SURE YOU READ THIS ARTICLE DURING YOUR BREAK AT WORK. IT’S WAS WRITTEN FOR RECREATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.
Ooooor not. Sometimes, as designers, we need a five-minute break even during work time. It may get really tiring sitting in a chair for too long, and when that happens, all the inspiration vanishes. It is important to love your job,but it’s equally important to know when to stop. Some offices around the world have a recreational room where the employees can go and have fun, distracting themselves for exhausting work. They can play either board games with their colleagues (the more traditional workers), or computer games (the big majority). Either one can be a great way of relaxation and in some cases, even crucial for the mental health. Not to mention the team-building effects such activities may have.
Minecraft has been around for over nine years now, its alpha launch dating back on the 17th of May, 2011. Ever since, the game has developed massively, now being played on multiple devices such as Microsoft Windows, OS X, Linux, Android, iOS, Xbox 360, Raspberry Pi, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation Vita, Windows 10 Edition.
What made this game so attractive and addictive? Everything. Today we’ll be shedding a light on one feature that actually attracted many designers into playing the game, and that is the Creative Mode. In this Gameplay mode, the players take on the role of little designers. They have access to all the material and tools in the game and are free to fly everywhere they want. Unlike the Survival Mode, the players can’t get hurt by any other character, nor can they die of hunger. This mode allows any player to build and create anywhere from tiny to colossal buildings. In today’s post, we want to show you some of the biggest, most complex, and mind-blowing architecture designs created in Minecraft.
